Public schooling in River Vale has an excellent reputation. River Vale Public Schools manages three campuses, serving the elementary and middle grades. High school students then move on to the Pascack Valley High School, where they are joined by Hillsdale students. The nearest college campus is Bergen Community College in Paramus. Farleigh Dickinson University also has a campus in Teaneck, N.J.
